Major scientific breakthroughs were made to find a way to put an end to the ongoing pandemic. A part of those efforts was Texas Biomedical Research Institute, and the man who over sees it, CEO and President Dr. Larry Schlesinger.

Fox News Midday was able to talk with Dr. Schlesinger, who discussed how this award from the World Affairs Council for "International Citizen of the Year" was a reflection of his impressive team. He will be honored by the World Affairs Council in a virtual ceremony, on March 24th at 7 p.m.

Additionally, he says now that there's three vaccines on the market, there's no slowing down the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Dr. Schlesinger said the institute will continue its part in developing new therapies and vaccines for the mutating Covid-19 variants.
