Dr. Elmore received his veterinary degree from U.C. Davis in 1984, and his MPVM, U.C. Davis in 1985. Dr. Elmore joined Texas Biomedical Research Institute in February 2016 in the role of Consulting Assistant Director of Veterinary Resources & Research Support for the Southwest National Primate Research Center. He brings over thirty-two years of experience to the job, having dedicated his professional career to research primate medicine, colony management, and research support. His past job experience includes work in industry as a consultant to biotech and large Pharma, twenty-five years with Charles River Laboratories, and additional experience as Associate Director of Veterinary Resources for Harvard Medical School’s Southborough campus / New England National Primate Research Center. Dr. Elmore’s past responsibilities include oversight of large multi-species research primate colonies, relative to: disease surveillance, production colonies, preventative medicine programs, transportation, housing, husbandry and veterinary care. In these roles he has experience meeting regulatory compliance with CDC, USDA, USFWS, AAALAC, OLAW and IACUCs.
