Gala Forum Grant Donors

The Gala is the Forum’s major fundraising event for Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Our efforts are specifically dedicated to fund new and innovative pilot studies for the brilliant scientists in the labs at Texas Biomed.  These grants are also sometimes known as “seed grants” because they are relatively small; but the ideas they power can grow to become huge in impact.

In just the last 15 years, Forum grants have totaled $2.4 million in pilot studies, which have directly resulted in more than $55 million in other grants (a +20x return!) from the National Institutes of Health and other similar organizations.  In other words, Forum grants provide our scientists with greater means to study and discover what might lead to a breakthrough, and even a cure, in the fields of heart disease, devastating infectious diseases, Parkinson’s disease, macular degeneration and serious conditions related to aging as well as those of newborns.  For example, the grants that the Forum has received within the last couple of years helped secure millions of dollars in funding the vaccine research for the Ebola virus and Malaria drug in 2015.  Researchers are still looking for vaccines and cures for these deadly diseases affecting millions worldwide.  Through the dedicated research of 75 doctoral scientists, Texas Biomedical Research Institute has remained at the forefront of human health issues affecting the world’s population.

We are asking for your help to allow the Forum to raise a record amount of money for these critical pilot studies. Below are the donation levels and the recognition each level will receive.
