Funding Priorities

Give Now

For the past 30 years, on average, a new infectious disease has emerged every year. Texas Biomed is here to protect you, your families and our global community from the threat of infectious diseases.

Give to Texas Biomed

Texas Biomed is focused on four funding priorities to maximize research improving human health. In conjunction with our 10-year Strategic Plan to grow Texas Biomed’s people, places and programs, support of these key areas will prove crucial for major scientific achievements to come.

Generous donor support and strategic corporate partnerships are the cornerstone to driving this extensive growth. See below to learn more about each priority.

Funding The Science

The importance of investing in research is paramount. Texas Biomed’s PhD researchers rely on support for the costs of performing research, while having access to top-of-the-line resources, to be readily prepared for potential disease threats. Additionally, our technicians make use of vital, specialized equipment to provide premier care for research animal models.

Global Center for Bioscience

The Global Center for Bioscience (GCB) will become the new, central research building housing Texas Biomed’s renowned team of scientists and supporting a network of external partners to reinforce collaboration between industry and education. With design plans underway, the GCB is primed to become a major destination in the field of bioscience and a gem of San Antonio and beyond.

Animal Care Complex

The Animal Care Complex (ACC) modernizes research and care for research primates, critical to biomedical discoveries and innovation. With expanded breeding colonies and offering additional pathology and health center space, the complex addresses the nations shortage of nonhuman primates for biomedical research while also being a key facility for research and animal care.
