Donations supplement grant monies and show grant-making organizations, such as the National Institutes of Health, of donor’s interest and confidence in the Institute’s work. In addition, donations may be used to fund salaries, supplies and other key research needs, such as equipment and laboratory supplies and to fill gaps that research funding does not cover. In some instances, donations provide “seed money” of new and innovative ideas, which are vital to the future of Texas Biomed’s research mission.
