A program for recent graduates who have completed their bachelor’s degree in any STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) discipline or health professions and aspire to a career in cancer research. The goal is to provide individuals with the skills and tools needed to pursue a career in cancer research beginning with the pursuit of a doctoral degree in any STEM discipline or health professions. 

College Tours

Visit our campus and see our research

In-person tours of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute are available for area colleges and universities in the fall, September and October. Tours of Texas Biomed may not include a tour of the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC). Tours of the SNPRC in the spring, February through April, are reserved for veterinary and anthropology related programs. Colleges and Universities may also request a seminar, virtual or in-person, from one of our team members. To request a tour or a seminar, please fill out the form below, and our education department will be in touch.

Texas Biomedical Research Institute In Person College/University Tour Application

Each tour is limited to no more than 30 individuals. Regardless of age, children of tour participants are not allowed on the tour of Texas Biomed campus.

Cell phones are not permitted on tours of the animal care areas. In the event cell phones are brought on campus, it is expected they will remain off and out of sight. However, if preferable, phones can be collected and placed in a secure area for the duration of the tour. Phones will be returned for distribution prior to leaving the Texas Biomed campus.

Availability for college/university tours is limited. The Research Education Director, Dr. Crystal Bolden-Rush or Research Education team member, will contact the coordinating professor regarding tour availability and application status.

Photography and video anywhere on the property is limited and must be pre-approved by the Assistant Vice President for Communications. Photography and videography from any electronic or photographic source, including cell phones, tablets, hidden cameras, etc. during a tour is considered a breach of security unless approved by the AVP of Communications in advance of the tour.

Texas Biomed reserves the right to decline any tour request or remove individuals from tours who breach security, safety and/or media policy guidelines.

Texas Biomed abides by the no firearms policy 30.06 and 30.07. No concealed or open carry of firearms is allowed on campus.
