Project Title: “Codon deoptimization as a novel strategy to generate attenuated M.tb strains for vaccine development”

Dr. Smriti Mehra and Dr. Mahesh Mohan 

Project Title: “Modulating Indoleamines to Optimize Immunity in the Setting of M.tb/HIV Co-infection”

2022 Texas Biomed IN-TRAC Preliminary Data Pilot Grant

Dr. Susanta Pahari (PI: Dr. Schlesinger) will study metabolic dysfunction in old age using Murine and NHP macrophages and the potential role of nuclear receptors Rev-erbα/β in this process.

2022 Texas Biomed IN-TRAC Preliminary Data Pilot Grant 

Dr. Juan I Garcia (PI: Dr. Torrelles) will study the validation and feasibility evaluation of a novel test to diagnose and perform drug susceptibility testing of 1st and 2nd line anti-tuberculosis drugs.

2022 Texas Biomed IN-TRAC Collaborative Pilot Grant

Drs. Jordi Torrelles and Gillian Beamer seek to define the lung oxidative and inflammatory mechanisms that drive collaborative cross mice susceptibility to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
