Dr. Soumyajit Dutta is from Kolkata, India. After completing a master’s in Biochemistry from India, he worked on exploring novel compounds with NF-kB inhibitory activity as a research assistant. He obtained his PhD in Cell Biology and Neurophysiology from Saarland University in Germany. After two Postdoctoral tenures at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in Japan and Purdue University, Indiana, respectively, he joined Texas Biomed as an Optical Microscopy Manager.
Overall, he has experience in cell biology and neuroscience, specifically vesicular exo-endocytosis, synaptic transmission, and reactive oxygen species in axonal growth guidance through optical recordings. He has ten years of experience in primary cell culture from transgenic mice, cell lines, viral-mediated DNA delivery, microinjection, high-resolution and high-end imaging, Immunofluorescence, molecular biology, biochemistry, specifically light microscopy.
