Henry Jegede D.V.M., MVSc, FCVSN, is a staff scientist at Texas Biomedical/SNPRC with a veterinary background working in zoo, laboratory, and field settings. He has extensive experience in primate medicine, having conducted epidemiological studies on primates in both zoo and natural habitats. Dr. Jegede has led multiple wildlife conservation and research projects, focusing on animal health, disease intervention, and prevention.
Dr. Jegede is passionate about advancing surgical research techniques and enhancing disease control measures. He has completed a Fellowship of the College of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria (FCVSN) in Zoo, Wildlife and Laboratory Animal Medicine and has authored several published studies. Dr. Jegede strongly believes in bridging clinical practice with research to improve animal care and welfare. In his role at Texas Biomedical/SNPRC, Dr. Jegede is focused on delivering top-tier veterinary care, advancing animal welfare initiatives, and working closely with researchers to refine methodologies and address health challenges within ongoing studies. Dr. Jegede remains committed to expanding his expertise, building on his extensive field experience in wildlife capture and conservation to further contribute to the advancement of veterinary science.
