Research Focus

Rossella Titone, Ph.D., is a Study Director and Biomedical Scientist at Texas Biomedical Research Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Biotechnology from the University of Eastern Piedmont in Italy, where she investigated the role of autophagy in cancer.

She advanced her training through postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she led studies on corneal epithelium homeostasis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa corneal infections. During her second postdoctoral appointment at Texas Biomedical Research Institute, she further broadened her expertise in infectious diseases by investigating Ebola virus dissemination.

She later served as Lead Scientist and Scientific Project Manager at bioAffinity Technologies, where she directed diagnostic product development from concept to commercialization. Her contributions included advancing a sputum-based lung test for early cancer detection using Flow Cytometry.

She has extensive experience in scientific project management, research design, product development, and cross‑functional team leadership, with a career dedicated to translating scientific discoveries into impactful healthcare solutions.
