Research Focus
Shahrzad Ezzatpour D.V.M., Ph.D., is a Staff Scientist at Texas Biomedical Research Institute and the SNPRC. She provides clinical medical care, and support biomedical research activities involving nonhuman primates. Dr. Ezzatpour earned her D.V.M. degree and later completed a Ph.D. in Virology and Immunology at Cornell University. Her interdisciplinary training combines veterinary medicine, and translational research, with expertise in zoonotic infectious diseases, including emerging viruses with pandemic potential. Her research experience has led to several peer-reviewed publications in virology, immunology, and translational biomedical research involving a variety of animal models.
In her role at Texas Biomedical/SNPRC, Dr. Ezzatpour is committed to providing high-quality veterinary care, supporting animal welfare initiatives, and working closely with researchers to refine animal research procedures, enhance protocol compliance, and address health challenges associated with ongoing studies. She is passionate about continuing to expand her expertise in nonhuman primate medicine and contributing to translational research that advances both animal and human health
