The San Antonio Business Journal honored an illustrious group of medical and science professionals on May 28 at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, including Texas Biomed Scientist and Ewing Halsell Scholar in the Department of Virology & Immunology Dr. Robert Davey.
Dr. Davey was named Outstanding Medical Researcher. He joined 18 others, who were honored for contributions to research, education, administration and the practice of medicine.
When asked what he would like to be remembered for as a Health Care Hero, Davey said, “I want to make a difference in human health. I would really like to find the drug that cures Ebola virus disease, but if I don’t, I would be happy if I can make a continued contribution to better understanding of what makes these viruses tick. These advances will help others to cure this and other similar viral diseases.”
